Returning to her morning talk show, The View, on Tuesday, co-host and journalist Barbara Walters talked about the wedding she attended over the weekend -- the nuptials of Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell. According to Ms. Walters, Paul McCartney made a toast to his late songwriting partner, John Lennon, at the wedding reception.
Ms. Walters told details about the wedding as well as the reception. As a cousin of Nancy Shevell, she was one of the few people invited. Ms. Shevell is the daughter of Ms. Walters's first cousin, who passed away from cancer. On the show, Ms. Walters said that Nancy is like a second daughter to her, and they are very close. Reports elsewhere have suggested that Ms. Walters may have introduced the couple.
Barbara Walters showed a photograph of Nancy Shevell in her wedding dress which she said was designed by Stella McCartney, the Beatle's daughter. Alongside that picture, she showed a photo of the Duchess of Windsor on her wedding day. The dresses were very similar, and Ms. Walters said that Stella McCartney "redid it for her." Keep reading....
