Dan Wheldon crash 'surreal,' says Mario Andretti on 'Piers Morgan Tonight'

Dan Wheldon crash 'surreal,' says Mario Andretti on 'Piers Morgan Tonight' -- Appearing on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight Monday evening, racing legend Mario Andretti called the crash that killed driver Dan Wheldon "surreal."

Mario Andretti appeared on the program with Tony Kanaan, the leader of the race at the time it was stopped after the crash. According to Sports Illustrated, as a result of where he was in the race, Mr. Kanaan was on the pole position for the five-lap tribute to Dan Wheldon. He was also a good friend of the fallen athlete.

Mr. Wheldon was killed as a result of a 15-car pile-up on lap 11 of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championship race on Sunday. He was 33.
